Single mom and Hollywood star Andie MacDowell has gotten engaged to Asheville, N.C., businessman Kevin Geagan, it was announced Wednesday.

A friend introduced the mother-of-three to Geagan late last year, People magazine reports.

She called me around Christmas and said 'Dad, I'm in love,' her father told People.

Soon afterward, MacDowell, 47, and Geagan, 40, decided to marry.

Geagan has three daughters, while MacDowell had Justin, 19, Rainey, 16, and Sarah Margaret, 11, with her husband of 13-years Paul Qualley. The couple divorced in 1999.

The actress' second marriage to a former high school classmate ended in 2004.
